Mining at Elephant LakeWelcome to the Meningie Gypsum website.

Meningie Gypsum Pty Ltd was founded in 1997. The company has mining and exploration rights over millions of tonnes of high grade gypsum close to the town of Meningie in South Australia . Meningie lies 150km by road southeast of the capital, Adelaide.

The gypsum occurs as lake bed deposits 1-2 metres thick. There is no overburden. All of the gypsum is extremely fine-grained and it meets specification, for agricultural uses.  After some treatment, much of the gypsum is suitable for industrial purposes such as cement, glass and plaster manufacture.

Our company was established with the specific aim of developing the Meningie deposits of gypsum by mining, stockpiling and treatment, and then developing markets - local, interstate and overseas. Bulk and bagged gypsum is sold. See the company's Mission and Vision.
